I’m riding the 2027 Tour of Tours with Le Loop — a three‑week endurance challenge covering 2,935km and 54,000 metres of climbing across the most iconic Tour de France stages ever ridden. Why Your Support Matters
Taking on the Tour of Tours is the biggest physical challenge of my life… three weeks of back‑to‑back riding across the most iconic and demanding Tour de France stages ever ridden. Every contribution helps the William Wates Memorial Trust continue its work supporting young people facing hardship and limited opportunities. The William Wates Memorial Trust; ‘Supporting projects that encourage young people experiencing severe disadvantage to keep away from anti-social behaviour and criminal activity, enabling them to fulfil their potential.’ None of your donations pay for any of the event, but knowing that you have donated really spurs me on in my training, and will get me through the event itself. Personal Motivation
My fundraising target is £4,500, and I’m riding the 2027 Tour of Tours in memory of my parents. This challenge is the biggest physical undertaking of my life, and completing it in their name gives every stage, every climb and every long training ride a deeper personal meaning.
I’m supporting the William Wates Memorial Trust because their work with young people facing hardship and limited opportunities reflects values my parents believed in strongly — giving people the chance to grow, to stay away from harm, and to fulfil their potential. Their mission resonates with me personally, and with the years I spent working in public service, seeing first‑hand how the right support at the right moment can change the direction of a young person’s life.
Every contribution, large or small, helps the Trust continue funding projects that make a real difference. Your support motivates me through the training and will carry me through the three weeks of riding next July, knowing that each kilometre contributes to something meaningful.
Funding Transparency
I have personally covered all costs of taking part in the 2027 Tour of Tours, including travel, entry fees, equipment and preparation. Every sponsorship contribution goes directly to the William Wates Memorial Trust through my official fundraising page, and none of it is used to fund my participation in the event.
